Things I’ve been eyeing, trying, or buying: Loungewear edition since we’re not going outside

So this is no surprise to anybody who has ever met me, but I love fashion. J’ADORE it. Eat, breathe, and quote the ‘Devil Wears Prada’ too much it.

Over the years, I’ve managed to become an expert on finding great picks from even the wildest of sources (I bat a 92% on my Amazon orders.) So I decided to share monthly on every payday - the 15th - all the things I’ve been eyeing, trying, or buying so you don’t have to sort through the BS. So let’s get started!

So I have a confession - my loungewear collection was pretty much non-existent pre-social distancing. It was a mixture of old high school shirts and soffe cotton shorts I don’t remember ever purchasing. And yes, I can hear all the athleisure stans gasping through the screen, but I am a jeans always kind of girl. But since I am spending more time on the couch vs the cafe, I decided to get into the game and start investing in some casual chic wear. So went on an internet deep dive and did some damage.

So this month for loungewear and here’s the things I’ve been eyeing…

  1. This plain white t-shirt that just screams, ‘yes, we’re crisp, but also we’re eating chips.’

2. These tapered pleated pants because we all love a classic silhouette plus it leaves room for all the laying in various chairs we’re all doing. Look it even shows you in my fav couch position!

3. These jeans for when you actually have to turn the camera on for your meeting and you can’t be pantless.

Trying…

4. Biker shorts. I was on the never biker short train, but there’s some days that leggings and shorts just aren’t it. And tbh they are perfect. I’ve been living in them and I’m never going back. So take a risk and channel your inner Princess Di.

5. What the love child of overalls from the 90’s and maxi dresses must be. I’m talking full on lounge jumpsuits. They are baggy, they are structured, they are the best kept secret our middle school art teachers were hiding from us. I didn’t know what I was getting into when trying these but I am SO GLAD I leaned into my hidden eccentric Brooklyn farmer’s market persona. I’m wearing them above!

Buying…

6. A series of cropped sweatshirts, because somewhere in my mind, I want to be warm but also knowingly have my midriff exposed. I swear it makes sense and they are an athleisure staple.

7. These joggers because they are the skinny jeans of loungewear. Also, if they are good enough for Rih Rih and Beyonce, they are good enough for me.

So go forth, buy some loungewear, and be the chicest person that no one will see.
